What’s New in SAP Logistics Management (SAP LGM)? Latest Updates for Transport and Warehouse Operations

What’s New in SAP Logistics Management 2026

Since the launch of SAP LGM in October 2025, not even a year has passed, and LGM has been continuously developed, expanded and improved. As a result, key processes and functions are already available in SAP LGM today. In this article, we’d like to take a look at the latest updates:

Transport: Extended process coverage for FTL, parcels and operational freight management

SAP Logistics Management now supports:

  • A new ‘Manage Freight Orders’ app
  • A basic FTL scenario for single pick & single drop
  • A new processing variant for FTL shipping

The ‘Manage Vehicle Types’ app – in which vehicle types, including maximum payload, can be maintained – expand the functionality of LGM. This is of particular interest to companies that manage their own or dedicated lorry transport operations and wish to integrate transport planning more closely into LGM.

FTL Shipments

Another important enhancement is the expansion of the loading list for FTL shipments. When printing via the ‘Manage Pickups and Deliveries’ app, the freight order number and vehicle type description are now displayed in the header, which benefits operational employees.

Parcel Processing

To simplify parcel processing, it is now possible to run the Parcel Process without linking it to a Pickup Document. Furthermore, Pickup Schedules are not required and Loading Lists for drivers are not printed.

This allows for a streamlined approach to parcel dispatch.

Additional Fields

In addition, traceability and integration within the outbound process are being enhanced. To this end, new fields such as ‘Delivery Type ERP’, ‘Customer Reference Number’, ‘Transportation Group’ and ‘Product Freight Group’ are being integrated. One-time customers can also be managed more efficiently.

Warehouse: Batch Management, Mobile Execution and Automation

.

Batch-managed products

An important new feature for the warehouse is the support for batch-managed products. The LGM is provided with a new master data object for this purpose. Features supported include Stock Upload, Manage Stock, Stock Change Documents, inbound processes, outbound processes, ad hoc movements and the packaging of products subject to batch management. This is relevant for sectors such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food & beverage, and regulated spare parts processes, where batch management and traceability are required.

Mobile batch verification

For mobile batch verification, the batch can be verified in the Warehouse Logistics Mobile App, when confirming put-away and picking tasks. This reduces errors on the shop floor.

Warehouse Logistics Mobile App

The Warehouse Logistics Mobile App has also been enhanced, enabling putaway searches by product or storage location, app-wide lookups for products, storage locations and handling units, ad hoc warehouse tasks, the ability to change the destination storage location during picking, and the option to skip warehouse tasks. These features increase flexibility for users.

Warehouse Task API

In addition, LGM’s extensibility is supported by the Warehouse Task API. The public OData API allows warehouse tasks to be read and confirmed. For customers and implementation partners, this is a key component for extensions that are closely aligned with the Clean Core, subsystem integrations, scanner solutions or custom apps.

Conclusion

The latest updates clearly demonstrate that SAP Logistics Management can support additional processes and functions and thus meet additional requirements, making it a more robust tool for its target audience. New features will continue to be implemented in the future and SAP’s roadmap for upcoming updates is full, and we look forward to keeping you informed about them.
